I know what it's like to be limited by injury

I've had plantar fasciitis and other lower leg sports injuries myself. I know how painful it can be and how it limits your ability to exercise or just walk.

My injuries made me worry that I wouldn’t be able to play soccer or other sports again. This negatively affected my mood and made me concerned about becoming unfit.

I’ve been practicing as a Podiatrist for 15 years now and I've successfully treated thousands of patients with injuries and pain. I've been the sports podiatrist for Bundoora United FC for the past two years and I’m also a member of ‘Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia’.

FAQs for Sports & Injury Management, Diamond Creek

We specifically look at injuries of the foot, ankle, and lower leg that occur through physical activities. At Sports & Injury Management you will receive a thorough assessment, diagnosis, and recovery plan to help speed up your recovery.

Treatment will vary but may include strapping being applied to the injured area, an exercise program, footwear advice, and sometimes orthotics.

To qualify as a podiatrist you undertake training at university for three to four years. Podiatrists are also expected to complete a mandated number of continual professional development hours per year, so we keep up to date with our clinical skills and the latest research.

Of course it's worth seeing a podiatrist! We can help with acute problems like sports injuries, as well as chronic problems like verrucae, hard skin, corns, and toenail issues. We can also provide vascular and neurological assessments if you have diabetes.

As podiatrists we can help with most problems from your hips to the end of your toes. Everything from heel pain (plantar fasciitis), Achilles tendinopathy, pain in the ball of your foot, arch pain, ankle pain, shin splints, and knee pain.

You can check to see if your podiatrist is qualified as an allied health provider by accessing the AHPRA website, where you can look up their name on the register.
